Making the Ride Feel Better

We worked on rider movement in Chill Dash, and Version 31 is now in closed testing.

Making the Ride Feel Better

Version 31 is now in closed testing, and this one came directly from feedback from our testers.

A few of you pointed out that the rider movement could feel laggy at times, especially while turning and moving around busy areas. There was also some noticeable pixelation in the rider's movement that made the game feel less smooth than we wanted.

So we went back to it.

We've worked on the movement and rendering to make riding feel smoother and more responsive. It's a small thing on paper, but when you're spending most of the game on a scooter, you notice it pretty quickly.

We also made a few other changes in this build:

  • Traffic now pauses when you open the rider's phone, so you don't have to worry about getting hit while checking an order or message.
  • Improved the game's loading state and startup flow, so getting into the game should feel quicker and cleaner.
  • Several smaller fixes and polish based on tester feedback.

Version 31 is currently with our closed testers. We'll keep watching the feedback and fixing the little things that make the ride feel off.

Thanks to everyone testing Chill Dash and actually telling us what feels wrong. That's how the game gets better.
